Fast Blog Finder v2: New Features, Capabilities and Improvements
The version 2 of Fast Blog Finder has a couple of new options and features that can definitely help you improve the search results and make your use of the program more effective. In this post I’d like to examine each new feature more closely and focus your attention on some particularities of the work with Fast Blog Finder v2.
Improved Search Engine and Accuracy of Link Type Determination
The version 2 of Fast Blog Finder has an improved search engine. This version can find a few times more blogs than the previous versions (applies to the Gold edition as the free version finds only 50 blogs for the target keywords). The accuracy of the link type determination (DoFollow, NoFollow) also increased. Unlike other programs of the kind, Fast Blog Finder analyzes the comment section on the page and searches for the "NoFollow" tag exactly in the comment area. Some pages can have the "NoFollow" tag somewhere else (in the advertisements, other links placed on the page, etc.) but not in the comments. If there is no "NoFollow" tag in the comments, the blog is considered as "DoFollow". You can try some other competitive programs and compare the results yourself.
Support of Multilingual Keyword Phrases
In the version 2.0 we added the ability to select the language for the search query. If you want to enter the keywords on a language other than English, be sure to select the right language from the drop down menu. Fast Blog Finder supports search for the keywords in the following languages: English, German, French, Dutch, Spanish, Italian and Russian. Select the desired language, enter your keywords and start the search.
Multi-Tabbed Page Browsing
This is a very convenient and time saving feature. You can take your time to view and post a comment on the current page while other pages are loading in the background. Once you’ve posted on the current page, you can move on to the next page without any delay. To open multiple pages in different tabs in the Preview window, hold down Ctrl on the keyboard and click on the link. The page will open in a new tab.

Use of HTTP Proxy Server
As I mentioned above, Fast Blog Finder v2 can find a few times more blogs than the previous versions. Because of the increased quantity of blogs the version 2 operates with, the quantity of requests for the domain and page PR determination grows too. Our test shows that Google allows about 2000 requests for PR from one IP address. After ~2000 requests Google blocks the IP address for a few hours and doesn’t return the PR. The program continues searching for blogs but the Domain PR and Page PR are not determined.
You can look at the indicator at the right bottom corner of Fast Blog Finder window. When it is green, Fast Blog Finder searches for blogs and determines the Domain and Page PR. When the indicator becomes red, it tells you that the program stopped sending the requests for PR detection in order not to flood Google with useless requests.

As a workaround, you can do the following:
1. Use a proxy server in Fast Blog Finder
Here are the options you have in the General settings of the program:
Use HTTP Proxy Server to search for blogs, determine PR and browse blogs
If you check this option, you can use a HTTP proxy server to search for blogs, determine Domain PR, Page PR, and browse found blogs. Be sure to enter the proxy server, port, your user name and password for the proxy server (if required).
Use proxy server only for blog search and PR detection
If you check this option, the HTTP proxy server will be used to search for blogs and determine PR only. When you browse found blogs, the proxy server will not be used.
Or,
2. Set the program to determine PR for "DoFollow" blogs only
To do this, check Detect Domain and Page PR for DoFollow blogs only option in the program General settings. Using this option you will decrease the number of requests for PR the program sends to the search engine because the PR will be requested for the blogs with the "DoFollow" type.
Note: if you need the PR for the blogs of all types, consider using a proxy server and change the proxy server when the indicator becomes red.

User Definable Depth of Search
You can indicate yourself the number of pages the program will fetch from the search engine to search for the blogs on those pages. To do this, open the Settings, click on the Advanced tab and set the slider at the desired number of pages. By default it is set to 3. From our experience we found this was the most optimal number of pages to find high ranked blogs for the target keywords and not to have the IP address blocked by Google for few hours because of a high amount of requests for PR.
Note: if you set more than 3 pages, it’s recommended that you also check Detect Domain and Page PR for DoFollow blogs only option in the General settings to decrease the number of requests for PR to the search engine.

Highlight "NoFollow" Links (added in the version 2.10)
For your convenience you can highlight the links with the "NoFollow" tag on the page. To do this, click on "Toggle Highlighting NoFollow Links" button above the Preview window. This is another way to make sure that the link type is determined properly.

Most Recent Post Date (added in the version 2.10)
Fast Blog Finder tries to determine the date of the most recent post on the blog. You’ll see the date of the latest post in the "Most Recent Post Date" column. You can filter the search results and remove the blogs that haven’t had an entry since a selected date, for example, during the last 1-2 years.

Great to see these new features, and can’t wait to try them out. Thanks for this fantastic product, it’s such an invaluable tool
Excellent additions to an already great program. One note on the proxy server; maybe it is better to allow a list of proxies to be entered, and the program to randomly use them to determine PR, and the program to ignore the bad ones. Overall, this is an INCREDIBLE improvement, and SHOWS your COMMITMENT to grow this product.

The previous version already serve my purpose really well. And this one is even better. Good job guys. Keep up the good work.
Just bought version 2.x and i’m very happy with results. More than 1500 search results for searched key phrase.
My compliments for great software!
This is a great software, excellent growth potential for websites, may I suggest you add a syntax section, this would help to focus in on specifc phrases.
Great software! Here is a tip for everyone out there. Don’t necessarily ignore pages with nofollow tags. The page has a high PR post anyway.
Why?
Yahoo and MSN still respect the link PLUS if you check your external links section in Google Webmaster Tools it will still show the link. So while it may not pass any link juice Google still tracks the links. Hmmmm…
Hi,
I have been eagerly waiting to try this tool. Finally, purchased the Gold Edition and
have to say it’s everything I expected. This tool will save me countless hours
looking for quality backlinks. The Deep Scan feature is a nice touch.
Many Thanks

I’ve only just come across this program, but it’s very impressive. I’m just trying the free version, but am very tempted to get the full thing.
Thanks

Fantastic, I’ve been looking for something a little more comprehensive as what I’m currently using doesn’t seem to be doing the trick. It still needs a lot of manual work to go through each link and make sure it’s valid. With this, I suspect the validity of the URL’s will be a lot better than the current software. Thanks for the free version too – going to get it and check this out and see if there is any considerable improvement over my current software.
I’ve been testing the free version for a while and am very impressed with this software. At the sametime, i am also trying out others similar blog finding softwares. My findings are that blog finder shows very accurate dofollow blogs on a page level as compared to few others that i’ve tested. I give this piece of tool a thumbs up!
Great work!
I really like the option to only check PR for the DoFollow blogs. I’ve tried proxy servers in the past and found them to be slow and sometimes google doesn’t seem to allow them (the expected results are not returned). Since the percentage of DoFollow results is relatively small only checking the dofollow blogs for PR should eliminate the need for a proxy server. Great feature!
