Top 10 Funniest Creative Website Promotion Tips
The Internet is full of link building, website promotion and SEO tips. What if we shake things up a little and talk about the way to promote your website which is not being used by many others and which is your own invention. We'd like to present you the most funniest website promotion tips that we collected on the Internet. So, let your quick wits and ingenuity work to the fullest and imagine what you could do to make your website as popular as possible. Are you ready for the most daring and extravagant deeds? 1. Give your link to millions of schoolchildren around the world. Let each of them create a little webpage with your link at the bottom. Sit back and enjoy all that lovely linkage.
2. Get a T-shirt with your site URL printed on it, hang out at local festivals with that shirt on, and look for the news van. Hang out behind the reporters while they are on camera.
3. Mail T-shirts with your URL on them to people around the country. Hunt those people down and kill them when they wear your shirt. This will put your link as a national headline – "The YourWebsite.com Killer Strikes Again!" (And don't forget to put the T-shirt on when you get arrested!)
4. Post complete crap about Google or some other monster on your site and then watch all the links pour in as people call you an idiot.
5. Have sex with anyone popular, put it on video and place it on your website. I'm sure you will get tons of links.
6. Steal flags off flagpoles outside important buildings and schools, and replace them with flags carrying your URL. It will get on the news.

8. Get Angelina Jolie to name her next baby after your site.

What about going around giving thumbs down on blog comments. Some of these suggestions aren’t ethical. I wouldn’t try half of these due to the low public image. But if it wasn’t for her bad rep in the press I might not know who the Lohan girl is. I think the idea of a combo of #5 and #9 would make for a pretty good promotion.

After receiving your neighbours’ congratulations about you wonderful idea, do the same paint job on their car bumpers (preferably at night although they might find out it was you…).

Make a video of a biker using the product you sell as a self defense weapon. Make sure he talks about having to fend off Mike Tyson. Post the video on your site and make sure lots of really really popular bloggers pick it up and write about it.

Excellent post. Any advertising is good advertising especially when its fun. Off the T-shirt idea you could make bikinis with your url on the lower backend. Then hand them out at the beach or swimming hole.
Those are hillarious – what about hiring a big gorilla to climb the Empire state building and wave your flag…or has something like that already been done? Maybe get all the people in china to tattoo your website to their forehead?

Great article. I bet you will see people behind news anchors now with web site url on shirt. You left out the person who sold space on fore head for web site on ebay they actual tried that one before.
How about hostage taking? Ask a link back to your site from various .gov and .edu sites as a demand before releasing the hostage?

Just a thought – is branding as important as SEO for smaller businesses? In terms of promotion, I mean.
Produce a movie, have popular actors and actresses in it. Then pay theaters to show it for free. Just make sure to have your url as the movie title. If you get tons of clicks in ads, think of a trilogy…
Why not make hospital gowns with your url on them and have the doctor’s and nurses wear there scrubs with your link on them? Have blankets and towels in Nursing homes and hotels with your url link on them. Have the mental institution adding your link to your gown.

Those are some very interesting way’s to promote your site. I like the idea of giving out free t shirts to people. If they are comfortable and stylish, I don’t think people will care what they say.
Ok how about (and I didn’t read all comments so this might be a repeat) hanging from the top of overpasses on busy freeways in large cities and paint your URL in large letters for all to see. Should be weeks before they are removed and at least days before you are arrested, time to get a lot of painting done.
Ok I went and read the other comments (no really, I’m not just trying to get two links for the price of one) and I want to add one I thought about, just taking one above one step further. Get several cans of spray paint and go around town and spray it down the whole side of cars 100’s of them (concentrate on cars that are driven every day but you think the owners may not remove quickly.)
Cartoons are another unique addage to a website. I really laughed at these suggestions though. In fact, some look as though they could make a good cartoon scenario! Keep up this inventive work…great to see.

I must say though I think the majority of these ideas would actually work…has anyone actually tried any of these since reading this…id be interested to hear how you went with that?
You only have to do one thing…. have someone famous mention the site or wear a t-shirt with the site on it. Don’t know anyone famous? They invented twitter and facebook…. pick your favorite and send them a message to check out your site.!
LOL! All those ideas are very creative. I would like to share mine…
1) Why not commit a (fake) suicide, let’s say you are going to jump in a building and at the back of it is a billboard of your website along with a big photo of yours… then act like a desperate person who really wanna die and doesn’t want to continue living. then put a title on the billboard “www.idontwannalive.com” I’m sure a lot from news media will cover your suicide attempt.
2) why not throw a tear gas in an NBA game championship along with a big cover note that says “visit my website http://www.crying.com“

how about get toilet paper with your url on printed on it. replace the toilet paper at local restaurants, etc. pretty high visibility.
LOL this is absolutely hilarious. Sometimes I used to hear crazy stories people used to say about other people who deploy such funny techniques to promote their services. I cant laugh so hard.
Especially I liked the sixth point of stealing flags. If that is one possible thing to do then I bet people would fighting around flag posts to hoist their URL fitted flag. My goodness I cant imagine how crazy it would be.

I appreciate the laughs, nice get form the community. Its a great break from the usual dry SEO comments that most articles are about. My favorite was about google, but the T-shirt ideas were funny too. If only i could find an army of school children to promote my websites.
How about:
1. helping the Pope up (just don’t tell anyone you engineered his fall),
2. Stop someone from popping a balloon on a flight (you handed these out to the kids near where you sit, not the big guy), or
3. wait at the end of the runway at Jamaica for the next plane to overshoot (at least that way the rest of us will stand a chance of getting some airtime if you did the first two).
