I have found that you can really expedite the process of google indexing your website if you submit to Digg. I submitted a site and within just a day I was able to see my site rank in google. This might be a shortcut worth taking

I think the best way to sell your affiliate product is: first create a website for this product, and second, build links to that website. There are few powerful ways to get one way backlinks who can put your site on top in SERP like: posting on forums (don’t forget to add your signature), posting comments on blogs (relevant comments not spam), create your own blog and write original articles about the product you promote or posting on social networks. I personally use this tips and my traffic and sales are growing from month to month.

Wow, I’m glad you wrote about the case of the blind leading the blind, aka, fake it til you make it thing. I made a commitment NOT to do that, however tempting that might be, and I’m glad to know that I’m not the only one. Thanks for some really sound ideas about getting started in affiliate marketing.

Forums can be a good way but only if you build a good reputation with others. Don’t expect to join many forums here and there and expect to get traffics just by the signature links you’ve put in. Building quality relationship is key and many a times lead to trust, which will in turn create more click through and sales.

always always do a wordtracker keyword search for not only the term but related terms, so if you are an affiliate for hosting
get some key words for ecommerce and domains and dofollow and build some landing pages. Put banners up on your site for the hosting company. I dont drive a bentley or anything but i do pay my expensive southern california mortgage with affiliate checks when everyone else is foreclosing

My website running affiliate programs with 3 websites, still my income is “0″ …
I am using each and every tips you mentioned, getting traffic, some times, i would like to ask people why they are not going to click on affiliates links.
One more question, banner will be good or text link?
As Google may panelized the text links but i don’t think so Google is Panelizing links withing banner.

How many times have we not seen blog posts and articles that just praises a product (this is true especially for software) just to get you to purchase the product via the affiliate link at the bottom of that ‘review’.

These posts tend not to be real reviews but basically sales pages in disguise, and once you see past that, IMHO, you get a bad taste in your mouth just thinking about that product.

An article/review about a product should be as authentic as possible and as you so rightly mentioned, include the bad as well. Few things are flawless, it lends to the credibility of yourself and your article to mention them.
